| What is Rush? |
| Rush is the word used when referring to the week long recruitment process when every fraternity on campus seeks potential new members. The greek organizations are open to all rushees and often host daily events to attract rushees and act as ice breakers to socialize and get know one another. During the course of the week, the fraternity may hand out "bids" which is an invitation to become a pledge in the fraternity. If you choose to accept a bid, you enter a probationary period of pledgeship in the fraternity and is considered the first first step in becoming a Greek. |

| Why Rush Sigma Alpha Epsilon? |
|
Leadership
It is well known that fraternity members enjoy a much higher involvement in campus and community life than non-fraternity members. Holding an office in the local chapter is a great experience involving working with a group, and in innovative thinking and problem solving. There is a reason that Greeks hold 85% of the upper-level executive positions in the "Fortune 500 Companies", and that is because of their experiences they are better qualified in working with people and delegating authority. The Sigma Alpha Epsilon pledge program is designed to help nurture and develop leadership in all of our potential members. Annually hosts a national leadership conference in Chicago which is open to members from all of our 200 chapters around the country.

If you are interested in joining Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and there is an active chapter or colony on your campus, contact the recruitment chairman of the Mississippi Sigma Chapter Drew Douglas or send an e-mail to Coordinator of Recruitment Matt Hannahan at (800) 233-1856, ext. 216, or at mhannahan@sae.net.
